Intel's Dominance

Intel's decision to become the sole source of the 32-bit X86 processor led to a legal battle with AMD. Although AMD was allowed to market X86 chips, they had to reverse engineer the designs in a clean room, taking them six years to catch up to Intel's 386 processor.
