I just listened to your bloodwork podcast episode and I’ve been considering the last few years of periodic bloodwork I’ve done. My serum iron is often high (above 200 µg/dL), while my ferritin is pretty low (44 ng/mL in 2021, but consistently getting lower: 13.8 ng/mL in May 2024 and 19 ng/mL in November 2024). My hemoglobin has run in the 14-14.8 g/dL range. I’m a 40-year-old female recreational ultra runner. Got any thoughts? I often feel unreasonably tired, and I struggle to get my heart rate high.
