Serj Tankian discusses how the band members grew up in a small community in Los Angeles, with some unique experiences and a common community bond. They attended the same Armenian private school and shared interesting pre-System of a Down experiences. Living in Los Angeles limited their choices in terms of who to play with, but they chose to collaborate within their community.
