    Growing up between New York City and Chicago, was immersed in a rich musical environment. His father, a guitarist, formed the Barrett Singers, a gospel group that performed alongside the Staples Singers. Barrett's exposure to gospel music was profound, yet he also developed a love for jazz, becoming a jazz pianist by age 17 1. He recalls, "I was mixing the two, preaching the gospel and trying to play jazz music at the same time," highlighting his early ability to blend different musical genres 1.

       

    Divine Music
