Solar Geoengineering Explained

Solar geoengineering aims to mitigate the effects of climate change by slightly reducing incoming solar radiation. While the only long-term solution is reducing atmospheric CO2, the potential for quicker interventions is explored. Current understanding is largely based on natural experiments, such as the effects of volcanic eruptions, with no large-scale human experiments conducted yet.
