I am a biology undergraduate student in Brazil and I follow your research and work. Recently, during a podcast, you talked about the brain activity that occurs more rapidly in rats during their sleep phase. Watching my cat sleep at home, I noticed that at times they move their paws, face, and ears as if they were in a nightmare. I wondered if what they are doing during sleep is repeating their movement patterns in a way that achieves the well-known mastery of cats in moving and hunting. Whether or not it is worth further study is up to you. In Brazil, and at my university, if I consider this idea with a professor, I probably won't be considered. Would it be worth further study to investigate if cats are repeating their movement patterns during sleep in relation to their hunting skills?
