Boosting Study Group Participation

Women and students from underrepresented racial groups showed higher participation rates in study groups, indicating a need for assistance in forming study groups. Despite challenges in conducting controlled experiments, comparisons between majority and non-majority demographics revealed no significant differences in group experiences. Freshmen students expressed higher satisfaction with the study group system. Additionally, a correlation was found between high comfort and interaction in groups and better performance on final exams, suggesting positive learning outcomes.
