Father-Child Bonding

Fathers build strong bonds with their children through play, which releases bonding hormones like oxytocin and beta endorphin. While Western fathers often engage in rough and tumble play due to time constraints, cultures like the ACA in the Congo foster a different kind of connection through constant physical contact and lower intensity interactions. Interestingly, despite these cultural differences, the overall impact on bonding and child adjustment appears similar, though risk tolerance varies significantly.
