Authentic vs Hubristic Pride

Narcissistic individuals tend to have hubristic pride, which causes them to feel the need to defend themselves against any attack, no matter how meaningless. On the other hand, those with genuine self-esteem are able to brush off little attacks and not let them bother them. Tracy suggests that to be more authentically proud, individuals should focus on who they are and what's important to them, rather than worrying about what others think.
