Detachment and Victory

Jocko discusses the benefits of detachment and how it relates to his own experiences. He shares the astonishment and anger felt when discovering the Japanese had withheld mail and Red Cross packages. The chapter also explores the desire for Japanese sabers as symbols of victory and the refusal to part with them when boarding a ship.
