Bruce discusses the intriguing concept of the mind and brain not being the same entity, drawing parallels to how a cell phone filters out radio waves to explain how the brain filters consciousness. He challenges the materialistic explanation that the brain creates the mind, highlighting the mystery of how physical processes give rise to non-physical thoughts and feelings. In this clip

I am writing a book on body, soul, and spirit. One theme of the book is that the brain is a miraculous computer that processes stimuli but is incapable of conscious thought. In other words, there is a separation between the brain and the mind. I just viewed your interview with Dr. David Berson and wondered what your position is on the brain's ability or inability to create consciousness. I have read articles from numerous neurologists and theories of ancient philosophers about the existence and nonexistence of this separation. Most neurologists seem to agree that consciousness has never been measured or observed in the brain. My belief is that the mind is just another name for nonmaterial consciousness of the soul. I am intrigued by your depth of understanding regarding neuroscience. Do you have a podcast or article that addresses this connection? Thank you.
