Hubble's Rocky Start

The ambitious Hubble Space Telescope project faced numerous challenges, including cost overruns and significant delays, ultimately costing over $6.7 billion. Upon its launch in 1990, the excitement quickly turned to concern when the telescope was discovered to be out of focus due to a flaw in the mirror's grinding process. Despite these setbacks, the mission team managed to conduct some observations, but the telescope's performance fell short of its groundbreaking potential.
