Origins of Textiles

The use of fibers and cloth dates back at least 30,000 to 50,000 years, with evidence ranging from ancient sewing needles to dyed flax fibers. Figurines from 25,000 years ago depict clothing, indicating that the practice of creating garments was widespread across different cultures. While linen was the primary material in ancient Egypt, the adoption of wool came much later, aided by advancements like shears in the Iron Age.
