Central American Independence

The capital was moved to San Salvador as political tensions rose, leading to a series of elections and the eventual rise of Carrera, a charismatic leader who united various groups. By 1839, the Federal Republic of Central America dissolved, with each country pursuing its own path to independence. Despite calls for reunification over the years, no serious efforts have materialized since then.
