Kamikaze attacks peaked during the final stages of World War II, with around 2,500 to 2,800 missions launched. Despite the desperate efforts, only 18.6% of these attacks succeeded in damaging enemy ships, ultimately failing to prevent Japan's defeat. Many pilots, who were coerced into these missions, later expressed regret, highlighting the tragic futility of their sacrifices.
