Tea's Global Journey

Despite being a major tea producer, India saw a rise in domestic tea consumption only after independence. Today, tea has become a global phenomenon, with countries like Turkey leading in per capita consumption. Interestingly, while there’s a wide variety of teas available, they all stem from a single plant species, camellia sinensis, with herbal teas not being true teas at all.
