Space Shuttle Legacy

The prototype space shuttle Enterprise is on display at the Intrepid Museum, while other shuttles like Atlantis and Endeavor can be found across the U.S. The Soviet Union's attempt at a space shuttle, Buran, flew only once before falling into disrepair. Despite its impressive design, the space shuttle's high costs and complexity ultimately hindered its success, leaving hopes for a new generation of spacecraft to provide affordable access to space.
