Jewish Roman Tensions

Roman rule in Judea was fraught with tension, especially after the death of Herod. The situation escalated in 66 AD when local grievances against Roman actions led to a violent uprising, marking the beginning of the First Jewish-Roman War. This conflict ultimately resulted in the destruction of the Jewish temple in 70 AD and initiated the great Jewish diaspora.
