Discovering Exoplanets

Pulsars, spinning neutron stars, emit regular signals that can be used to time events, but they can also reveal the presence of orbiting planets. Astronomers discovered two planets around a pulsar, marking a significant milestone in the search for exoplanets. The first planet found around a main sequence star came later, showcasing a hot Jupiter using a unique method known as the wobble method. These discoveries have reshaped our understanding of planetary systems beyond our own.
