Meanwhile, the Allies operated under the assumption that Germany was aggressively pursuing nuclear capabilities, leading to the extensive Manhattan Project. As the war progressed, the German nuclear program shifted focus towards energy production, facing significant setbacks due to sabotage efforts from the British and Norwegian resistance.
