Acadian Expulsion

The Acadians faced a precarious situation as British authorities demanded loyalty oaths, fearing repercussions from both the French and the native Micmac tribe. Tensions escalated after the capture of a French fort revealed Acadians serving in the militia, leading to their forced expulsion in 1755. With their lands and possessions seized, many Acadians were shipped off to distant British colonies, marking a tragic chapter in their history.
