Brownists and Pilgrims

The Brownists, a group of Puritans and separatists, sought to distance themselves from the Anglican Church, leading to their migration to the Netherlands in search of religious freedom. Despite initially finding the freedom they desired, they struggled with societal challenges and a desire to maintain their English identity. As conditions worsened, the idea of relocating to the New World emerged, setting the stage for their eventual journey across the ocean.
