Tirpitz and St Nazaire

The Tirpitz, a formidable battleship, posed a significant threat to British naval operations, especially after the devastating encounter with the Bismarck. With limited options for repairs, the British strategized to neutralize the Tirpitz by targeting its only repair port, St Nazaire. Rather than engage in direct conflict, they devised an audacious plan known as Operation Chariot to incapacitate the port and contain the battleship's movements.
