Calendar Reform History

The calendar reform initiated by Aloysius introduced a leap year system that significantly reduced annual error. In 1582, a ten-day jump was made to transition from the Julian to the Gregorian calendar, but adoption varied widely across Europe, with some countries resisting due to religious affiliations. Over the centuries, the gap between the calendars grew, leading to further adjustments, with Saudi Arabia being the last to adopt the Gregorian system in 2016.
