Voting and Suffrage

The concept of suffrage often confuses many, as it is mistakenly linked to suffering. Historically, while the idea of equal voting rights is now fundamental, it wasn't always the case, especially for women. Various cultures had informal voting systems, yet formal recognition of women's voting rights only emerged in the 16th century, often tied to land ownership rather than gender.
