Career Highlights

Abram Petrovich Gannibal's career in the Russian military was marked by remarkable achievements and a steady rise through the ranks. He was promoted to major general and became the superintendent of Reval, now Tallinn, Estonia, under the reign of Elizabeth, Peter the Great's daughter 1. His contributions included the completion of the Ladoga Canal and serving as the chief engineer of the Russian army, eventually reaching the rank of general chief 1.

When he passed away, he was one of the most distinguished and honored figures in all of Russia.
