  • Player Performance

The discussion kicks off with a deep dive into the performances of key players in Gameweek 21. and scrutinize Ollie Watkins' recent form, noting a significant drop in his expected goals and assists, which raises questions about his viability as a long-term asset 1. Meanwhile, praises the managers who captained Kevin De Bruyne, despite concerns about his readiness to start 2. adds that De Bruyne's impact, even off the bench, is undeniable, making him a tempting option for future game weeks 2.

The numbers have significantly dropped. When you're looking at FPL assets and you're spending the level of budget that you are on him. Given that we have players like Tony, like Hoylan, who you know is starting to show himself in that price point in the 6 million bracket, 6.57. There's a lot of decent options there for us for a forward right now. So I'm looking at Watkins thinking the numbers have massively dropped. I don't think it makes you a terrible asset. I don't think it means we should all automatically sell him. But it does make you question whether he's the right player to have given. The numbers just do not look anywhere near as good as they were in the early part of the season.

    Wildcard Strategies

Next, the team explores various wildcard strategies to optimize for upcoming game weeks. highlights the importance of planning for Double Gameweek 25, while suggests using the wildcard around Gameweek 25 to maximize information on fixtures and player availability 3. adds that waiting until after the African Cup of Nations and the Asian Cup could be beneficial for bringing back key players like Salah and Son 4.

In terms of Salah, that has crossed my mind in terms of selling him because I could sell him for KDB quite easily, use that position to my advantage for the next couple of weeks. However, even with a couple of price drops, I've still got quite a lot of team value in Salah and I'm looking at my team thinking, well, I want Harlan back. I want Salah. I'm going to want KDB for the double. I'm probably going to want one of the spurs midfielders. I'm going to want to hold Saka. So that's a lot of budget that's being taken up by these players.

    Captain Choices

The analysis of captain choices reveals the impact of these decisions on Gameweek 21 results. shares his relief at not captaining Phil Foden, while admits to forgetting to change her vice-captain, leading to some anxious moments 5 6. points out that Cole Palmer's penalty-taking prowess has made him a valuable asset, especially with Raheem Sterling winning numerous penalties 5.

These penalties are great for Cole Palmer, though, aren't they? Five out of five he's had this season, it's the most in the Premier League. And it's Raheem Sterling as well, who is actually, I didn't know this, but I found it out after Cole Palmer scored that penalty. He has won more penalties in Premier League history than any other player. He's won 26 during his career in the English top flight. It's double anyone else who's currently playing in the Premier League as well. Startling. He's won three this season, more than anyone else, too.
