Inflammation from Eating

Eating, even when consuming anti-inflammatory foods, can provoke inflammation due to the digestive process. Strong stomach acids and bile salts disrupt the intestinal microbiota, leading to the death of bacteria and the release of lipopolysaccharides (LPs) that trigger an inflammatory response. A healthy immune system typically manages this response, but dysfunction can result in systemic inflammation that extends beyond the gut.
