After returning to Canada in early 2020, Mark faced challenges in securing an analyst position. Instead of waiting for opportunities, he proactively built a network of angel investors and high-net-worth individuals, which led to the creation of Red for Ventures. Through this initiative, he successfully managed a portfolio of 26 investments, laying the groundwork for a professional investment firm.
