Stress is a generic system designed to mobilize other systems in the brain and body. Short-term stress can be beneficial for the immune system, while long-term stress is bad for health. Stress can be acute or chronic, and it's important to focus on how we respond to stress rather than the stressors themselves. Coping mechanisms such as breathing and meditation can help control stress in real-time. (Episode 10) Stress can be broken down into good and bad, acute and chronic stress. It's not the stressors themselves that are the problem, but how we respond to them. Coping mechanisms are important for managing stress. (Episode with Dr. Elissa Epel)
