Cliff explains that quants are low conviction traders on individual stocks, and instead focus on the characteristics of the stock and the long and short portfolios. He gives indicative stock names to illustrate these characteristics, but emphasizes that getting the names wrong won't necessarily impact the success of the portfolio.
