I have a new question regarding my current weight loss journey. I was a personal trainer and group fitness coach for about six years. I would love any suggestions on how I can move forward with my fat loss journey. The weird part is I feel relatively stronger and more mobile than ever and just turned 40 in March, but I just don’t feel like my look and current body fat match my efforts. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I’m a mom of two, and my youngest is about to turn 2. I cannot for the life of me lose the excess “baby weight” and trim down. My main goal is to continue building strength and lower my overall body fat percentage/improve my body composition. If anything, I’ve actually gained weight since the first year I was postpartum.
I was put on an antidepressant, which I now regret and eventually quit taking. After researching, I found that the antidepressant suppresses testosterone. I was doing CrossFit before my second child, where I was in the best shape of my life but exhausted and overtrained. After my daughter, I went into a “hybrid” program, lifting and training for a half marathon. (I gained weight and looked puffy.) Then I thought, okay, I’ll do a marathon and hybrid train. (I do want to lose weight and look fit.) But I’ve stopped that.
