I had been struggling with my weight since I had my son 3 ½ years ago. I’ve been lifting consistently twice a week since I was 7 weeks postpartum. I’d even done a couple of your programs, which I love! However, I was struggling to get my diet under control to lose fat. I listened to your podcast quite a bit and I really appreciate and respect your opinions. I was hesitant to try a GLP-1 due to an on-again off-again eating disorder I had for approximately 15 years. I was nervous that I would fall into old habits of not eating sufficiently again. But it hasn’t been like that at all! I still eat sufficiently, but I have an off switch now, which is wonderful. I’ve been on Ozempic since May and I’ve lost 20 lbs since then. I’m still making sure to eat enough protein, which I’ve had to supplement with a shake at the end of the day most days because eating that much protein is HARD. I’m still lifting twice a week and trying to walk most days for 45 minutes to an hour. Everything has been going great; however, I still have a long way to go with my weight loss journey. I still have about 40 pounds I’d like to lose. I started at 226 lbs at my heaviest, and I’m now down to 206 lbs. My husband and I are currently talking about trying for baby number 2. We’d have to start trying now, as I don’t want to have a much bigger age gap between the 2 kids. Ideally, I would have liked to have lost more weight before getting pregnant again, but that won’t be the case, and I know I can’t stay on Ozempic during my pregnancy. So my question is, do you have any advice on continuing to lose fat during my pregnancy, or at least not gaining more weight? What is the safest and most effective way to go about this? Also, what is the safest way to continue lifting during pregnancy and the most suitable programming? I work 4 days a week as a hair stylist and have a 3-year-old son, so life is busy!
I'm 5 months postpartum with my first child, and I breastfeed. I had a c-section and weighed around 155 before I got pregnant. I didn't gain any weight during my pregnancy, and since giving birth, I lost over 20lbs postpartum. I currently weigh around 130 but struggle with nutrition. I want to keep working out, but I feel like I'm going backwards because I don't think I'm eating enough. I have MAPS Starter, but I'm not sure if I should continue the program and work on my nutrition or focus on nutrition before I start working out. What should I do?
Why am I not losing weight postpartum? I'm a woman who can’t lose more than 10 pounds when I really need to lose around 30 pounds. Does Gary Brecka have any tips?
