I have a question about the episode Fasting Is A Terrible Strategy To Lose Fat, Here's Why | Mind Pump 2354 and this Underweight Concerns. I am a 28.5-year-old male, 8-13% body fat, and weigh 142lbs. My goals are to master compound lifts and achieve hypertrophy. I am a novice level strength in some muscle groups and intermediate in others. My long-term goal is to reach a weight between 145-160lbs and maintain 8-10% body fat for the rest of my life while learning other skills like surfing, climbing, balance, and calisthenics while preserving muscle. I am unsure if I want to be tracking calories my whole life, and I don't know what it will be like to maintain my weight at 145-160lbs without an app. What should I do in my situation: follow a more distinct bulk phase right now, adding .5lbs per week /.35%BW per week, then cutting and repeating; or a moderate bulk at .2-.3lbs per week /.15-.21%BW per week and then maintain at 145lbs or 150lbs?
I am a mom of two, and my youngest is about to turn 2. I cannot for the life of me lose the excess “baby weight” and trim down. My main goal is to continue building strength and lower my overall body fat percentage/improve my body composition. If anything, I’ve actually gained weight since the first year I was postpartum.
I'm around 20% body fat and have always wanted to be between 12% and 15%, but it hasn't been easy to get there. I have a huge appetite despite eating 220 to 250 grams of protein and 2500 calories every day for the past two years. Is it possible that I'm eating too little? Should I eat more now that I have started anabolic training, or should I stick to a deficit? I'm just a little afraid of getting much heavier. Hope you can help me out, and thanks for everything you guys do.
