My daughter is 16 and every time she eats, she has stomach pain. We took her to a doctor to have her gallbladder checked, and they said there are no stones and essentially dismissed our concerns, including our reluctance to keep her on a prescription antacid for life. We believe more tests are needed to figure out what's going on.
I will start at the beginning. Most of this started 5 years ago when I was pregnant with my last child. I started experiencing constipation and sickness about 20 weeks into my pregnancy. After eating certain foods, I was getting sick and experiencing stomach pain, which felt like a stomach bug. I did a food tolerance test and it came back with milk and dairy intolerance. I cut all that out, and it did help a little bit.
Fast forward a bit, and I have had further tests that showed I have slow transit; my bowel just doesn't work anymore. I can take 11 or 12 different laxatives a day and still can't go. I am using a water irrigation system at home too, but it is not working at the moment. It works for the bottom of my bowel but gets stuck at the top (the doctors will not say it's a blockage; they just say it's stuck).
