Early Aspirations

Sean's journey into law enforcement began with a childhood diabetes diagnosis at age nine, which left a lasting impact on his life. He recalls the initial symptoms, such as unquenchable thirst and frequent vomiting, leading to a hospital visit where he was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes 1. Despite this challenge, Sean was inspired by the public servants in his family and decided to pursue a career in law enforcement during his high school years 2. He explains, "I grew up with public servants in my family, and I enjoyed seeing them go out and make a difference in the world, and that's the reason why I wanted to become a cop."

   

Service and Tradition

Family tradition played a significant role in Sean's decision to serve in law enforcement. His father, a dedicated firefighter, exemplified the values of service and commitment, which Sean admired and sought to emulate 3. Sean's determination was evident from a young age, as he pursued a criminal justice degree and remained steadfast in his goal to become a police officer 4. He shares, "I really wanted to help people and serve, and that was one of the things that I really wanted to do."

   

Challenges

Sean's career in law enforcement has not been without its challenges, including moments of doubt and danger. He recounts a humorous yet unbelievable story of a fellow officer who turned to crime to fund a treasure hunt, highlighting the unpredictable nature of the job 5.
