Capitalism vs. Communism

Stalin's rise to power was influenced by the disillusionment with capitalism during the Great Depression, as many viewed communism as a viable alternative amidst widespread hardship. While communism sought to address real societal issues, it ultimately proved to be a flawed solution, especially as the post-World War II context shifted in favor of capitalism. The defeat of fascism and the subsequent economic boom highlighted the shortcomings of Stalin's regime, revealing that communism could not sustain itself if it failed to offer a superior alternative to capitalism.
