Custom Calibrated Resistance
Discover how custom calibrated resistance transforms workout dynamics by matching individual effort levels. This innovative approach allows for continuous tension without the hassle of changing weights, enabling efficient training adaptations. By pushing to fatigue, the body receives crucial signals to improve performance, whether in the gym or mastering a new skill. In this clip

Is strength training more about training your nervous system through intensity, with fewer repetitions but as much frequency as you want, as Andy Galpin suggested in episode 250 ‒ Training principles for longevity | Andy Galpin, Ph.D. (PART II)? Am I correct in understanding that you are training the nervous system to recruit more fibers efficiently to produce higher total force? How did I do in understanding this concept?
When talking about strength in the episode 250 ‒ Training principles for longevity | Andy Galpin, Ph.D. (PART II), Andy Galpin said it's all about total force. So when strength training, is it more about training your nervous system through intensity, with fewer repetitions but as much frequency as you want? Am I correct in understanding that you are training the nervous system to recruit more fibers efficiently to produce higher total force?
If I train to perfect a movement (focusing on light weights first to allow my nervous system to train that particular movement to perfection during a specific set of time), my last reps, which are not close to failure but similar, will be in 100% control. This is because my nervous system already remembers the movement so well that it will even perform great when doing close to failure movements. This adds a benefit to training with lighter weights to perfect that movement.
