I am 65, very healthy except for osteoarthritis. I have had arthritic issues in every joint—knees, shoulders, elbows—requiring surgery at some point in all six. Once arthritis takes over in the joints, the degeneration starts, and rehab/meds never worked to alleviate the pain. Now I am experiencing general overall body pain, with severe pain and loss of use in my hands. As a woodworker, sawmill operator, and gardener, the limiting effects on my activity are becoming very frustrating.
I took Feldene for pain, and it worked for most of the pain for 20+ years, but it was less effective for my finger joints. I quit Feldene three weeks ago and am trying hard to avoid going back on it. I am worried about the effects on kidney and liver performance and the sudden appearance of multiple gout battles, raising concerns that Feldene may have made my kidneys less effective. I also quit drinking alcohol in January of this year.
I am a lifetime member and love your podcasts. I wish you would do an in-depth podcast on osteoarthritis and any remedies that show real promise. Most of the claims out there seem like voodoo medicine, and nothing seems to help in my situation. Thanks for your work.
