    I woke up in a jail cell again. You know, I'd been in a bunch of jails at this point, just like getting arrested for things, waking up and you're like, where am I?

    Sobriety Challenges

    After getting sober, Brendan faced the daunting task of adjusting to life without alcohol. At 23, he found himself in grad school, struggling with loneliness and the absence of a social life that didn't revolve around drinking 3. The societal prevalence of alcohol made it challenging for him to interact with others, as he couldn't partake in the typical college social scene. Brendan shares,

    Getting sober is difficult for people, and for me, I think it was super difficult, you know, on this emotional level where you just don't know how to interact with people.
