Memory Construction

Memories are formed through the intricate connections between neurons, like building a bridge over a chasm. When a rat hears a tone followed by a shock, its brain creates a lasting association, leading it to freeze in anticipation of danger. However, if a chemical disrupts this process during memory formation, the rat remains oblivious to the connection, perpetually surprised by the shock. Once a memory is solidified, it becomes an indelible part of the mind, impossible to erase.
