I have a question about the episode Midlife Crisis? Why Life After 50 Could Be Your Best Years Yet | Chip Conley and the clip Cancer as Teacher. I'm 66 years old, I was a firefighter for 30 years, and I got prostate cancer. Now I have a benign cyst on my left kidney, and I'm trying to get rid of it. I eat whole foods and try to eat organic as much as I can. I have a reverse osmosis system in my house for drinking water. I saw the podcast about the Baja Gold salt, and I've been using it, but I didn't know to use it in the morning as you suggest. I just got a red light therapy mat, and I’ve been doing the Wim Hof breathing for about a month and a half, and I love it. How can I optimize my health with these practices?
I am recovering from aggressive chemo, radiation, and immunotherapy treatments for an aggressive triple-negative breast tumor. The treatment caused Diabetes 3, and I continue to have mucus coming from my respiratory system. I was recently in a 6-day coma and am under no illusion that the original tumor cells are lurking microscopically, waiting to ambush my body at the first chance. My diet has improved but still needs considerable work. I now eat three meals a day on most days and have started including fermented foods, about three days a week. I eat only butter, olive oil, and cook with avocado oil. I have steak, bacon, and free-range mince. I eat chicken occasionally, maybe once a week, and eat sourdough toast but have introduced other hard breads as well. I have difficulty controlling my desire for simple carbohydrates, chocolates, and biscuits, which disrupt my health diet. I mainly eat organic food, mostly organic coleslaw, lightly cooked and mixed with onions, garlic, tomatoes, or whatever I have in the fridge. I am trying hard to change to a healthier lifestyle and diet, but it is proving a challenge. I am 58 years old and know I have high triglycerides, first detected back in my teens. I also have the BRCA gene but can't remember if it is 1 or 2. I am not very active but will try to go for occasional walks. I have never had an overweight problem but suffered significant weight and muscle loss during treatments. I am convinced I suffer from the dreaded skinny fat problem. I have since gained some of my weight back, but muscle loss is still evident. I used to be very fit but find it hard to jump back into it again. I have developed hypothyroid issues and now take one 50 mcg Levoxine tablet in the morning, along with 2 B complex, Vit D with K, and have recently been put on one 100 mg aspirin tablet a day, which is fine because I have always responded well to aspirin. I also take one 20 mg tablet of Frusemide and one 20 mg of Atorvastatin, which bothers me because of the concerns around statins. I was diagnosed in December 2023, and treatments started in January 2024. The treatments finished in October 2024, but they have caused these chronic health problems I currently battle. I continue to research and follow Robert F. Kennedy, Mark Hyman, and Robert Lustig, to name a few. Any advice you could offer would be most appreciated.
Hey Gary, this is Rocky Marvel. I’m a little late to the party. My wife has known about you for a while. I watched the Joe Rogan/Mel Gibson episode where they talked about cancer, you, and what you’ve done for Mel and Dana White. I’m 55, a new diabetic, and have recently been diagnosed with prostate cancer. I’ve already talked to my wife about getting your supplements here at the house. I’ve also watched numerous clips about your 30/30/30 regimen. Here’s my dilemma: I’m the drummer for country singer Mark Chesnutt. We do about 80 shows a year. The other thing I do is drive tour buses. So, my life and body clock are upside down half of every week. I don’t know when or how to begin the 30/30/30 regimen. What are your thoughts? Thank you!
