Venture Frogs was an incubator started by Tony Hsieh, the former CEO of Zappos, after his time with LinkExchange. Hsieh raised about $27 million for the incubator, with roughly half of the funds being his own money and the remainder coming from early LinkExchange employees who had profited from its acquisition. Despite initial excitement about investing in various companies and being exposed to different founders and internet ventures, Hsieh eventually found investing to be unfulfilling compared to the hands-on experience of building something from scratch 1 2.
