Ancient Armor Experiment
Researchers tested the Dendra armor, a 3500-year-old suit from Bronze Age Greece, by having modern soldiers wear replicas during simulated combat inspired by Homer's Iliad. The soldiers engaged in 11 hours of activities, including chariot riding and using bows, while enjoying a historically inspired menu featuring bread, goat cheese, and red wine. The findings suggest that this heavy armor could withstand sustained use, challenging the notion that it was merely ceremonial.In this clip
