Ecosystem Vulnerability

Climate change poses a significant threat to various ecosystems, with forests being particularly vulnerable due to their slow growth and inability to relocate. As temperatures rise, the IPCC estimates that around 10% of land species could become critically endangered at just two degrees of warming, leading to substantial disruptions in biodiversity and ecosystem stability. Other at-risk environments include coral reefs, mangrove swamps, and polar ecosystems, all facing severe challenges in adapting to rapid climate shifts.
