Understanding Public Goods
Public goods are defined by two key characteristics: non excludability and non rivalry. Non excludability means that once a good is produced, it’s impossible to prevent others from using it, as illustrated by the example of national defense. Non rivalry indicates that one person's consumption of a good doesn't diminish its availability to others, which can also apply to ideas and inventions. These concepts highlight the complexities of how goods can be shared and accessed in society. In this clip
