Temperate Grasslands

Temperate grasslands, often referred to as prairies or steppes, span vast regions across the globe, including the central United States and parts of South America and Asia. While prairies are characterized by lush, tall grasses, steppes feature shorter grasses due to their semi-arid conditions. These ecosystems have limited tree coverage, primarily dominated by grasses, and share similarities with tropical savannas, though distinctions remain important.
