Travel Philosophy

Pat and Pete Etheridge's travel philosophy is rooted in spontaneity and a shared sense of adventure. Pat's upbringing, with a pilot father, exposed her to exotic destinations, while Pete's horizons expanded after meeting her. Their approach to travel is simple and unplanned, often deciding their next move on a whim.

We don't follow lots of guides. We just potter about, go to markets, all that sort of thing, and keep it very simple.

Spontaneous Travels

The Etheridges' spontaneous travels have taken them across the globe, from Greece to Afghanistan, and eventually to Sri Lanka. Their journey is characterized by a lack of rigid plans, allowing them to immerse themselves fully in each destination. This approach to travel has been a constant in their lives, even as they raised two children and pursued careers as teachers.

Once the sort of kids were old enough for us to start traveling again, then the rucksacks came out.
