Bias in Proposal Review

A consultant and her student observed that personal biases influenced committee discussions during proposal reviews, often overshadowing scientific merit. To combat this issue, they proposed a fully anonymous submission process, urging scientists to write in a way that conceals their identities. While some in the astronomy community supported this change, there were notable objections as well.
