Contact Tracing Challenges

Social distancing can be likened to a mass quarantine, but its effectiveness hinges on a robust test, trace, and isolate system. Current guidelines define a contact as someone within 6 feet for 10 to 30 minutes, although the science behind these criteria is still evolving. With only 2,200 trained contact tracers nationwide and a pressing need for 100,000 more, the path to effective contact tracing remains daunting.
